With so many country fairs having to cancel last year, due to the unseasonal British weather, the Fenland Country Fair at Stow Cum-Quy decided to extend its opening to ensure that we can all get our experience of traditional country life in the summer. Last year celebrated all that is special about Great Britain, with the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, the fair is an experience not to be missed, a true celebration of life in the British Countryside, a haven of quintessential country charm all brought together in one place.

Dob obedience at Fenland Country Fair Malcolm Hall, one of the fair organisers, explains his aim: “I want the smells and sounds of the fair to take people back to their childhood and a simpler traditional way of life....vintage cars and farm machinery, demonstrations of old rural crafts from days gone by, cakes from the Women’s Institute, Falconry and Sheepdog displays, listening to the sounds of clay shooting in the background whilst sitting on haybales, and hearing people laugh as all the dogs go the wrong way around the dog agility course”.

With a wide selection of high quality and well respected national traders of country clothing, equipment and crafts, there is plenty to tempt the shoppers, alongside the delicious variety of locally grown refreshments and produce for sale, not to mention the very popular beer tent and plentiful activities for all the family to join in.
